I graduated from CSUN in 1995 with a BA in Earth Science. Guess I should have done a
little more career research before I chose that one because, guess what...there's
not a whole lot of demand for "earth scientists." I kept my stable job at Lucky Supermarket until January of
1998, when I moved to Colorado with my son and my (now) ex-husband. After a couple of clerical and customer service jobs, I went back to school in 1999 and earned a certificate in Network and Systems Administration.
It was good timing, right around the time of the "dot com bubble" and the Y2K scare, so I was able to find
a job in the tech industry.
I currently work at Compassion International as a systems administrator. Compassion is a Christian child sponsorship organization that works through churches throughout the world. They get an "A" from Charitywatch.org for allocating at least 80% of the revenue to the projects that benefit the children.
I finished my Masters in Computer Information Systems in 2003, and my Masters in Computer Systems Security in 2007.
